What you can do at the counter
Search your catalogue, scan an existing barcode or add an item when your role permits it. Quick picks and a small, editable basket help you check quantities before opening Payment. The next screen keeps the item summary and total visible, with customer details and extra options available when needed. Going back to the basket keeps the current draft.
For cash, enter the amount received to calculate change, or leave it blank for exact cash. For a transfer, check your bank account before using the manual confirmation. A reference number alone is not proof. External card-terminal payments must be confirmed on that terminal; ReceiptPro does not replace Moniepoint, OPay or another payment provider.
Goods, services and documents in one workflow
Track prices and quantities for goods, with low-stock lists to support your routine checks. Services such as repairs, haircuts or consultations use service descriptions and fees without requiring pretend stock. A cafe or food vendor can record menu-item sales and print a receipt on a suitable plan; this is not a kitchen-display, table-ordering or ingredient-management system.
Prepare a proforma when a customer needs a quotation. Keep it separate from completed sales until you explicitly record the transaction. Choose an A4 document for longer descriptions or an 80 mm layout for a compact receipt. A customer asking for an invoice does not automatically mean that a payment has been received.
Choosing POS software for a Nigerian business
Check how payments are recorded
Distinguish software that keeps sales records from a bank terminal that processes money. Test cash, transfers and card-terminal records with your own confirmation process before using them during a busy shift.
Try your catalogue and printer
Use the public demo, then test a small set of your own goods or services. Check long descriptions, naira totals and the browser's paper-size settings. Printer compatibility depends on your browser, device and hardware.
Understand people, permissions and backups
Protected team selling requires explicit owner setup and an internet connection. Growth supports two cashier logins; Pro supports manager, cashier and accountant roles. Keep exported backups and test restoring sample records rather than assuming every device automatically stays in sync.
For shops in Abuja, Lagos and across Nigeria
An accessories shop in Abuja may need barcode search and accurate quantities. A Lagos repair business may start with a service quote, then record payment and provide an A4 receipt. These are illustrative workflows, not customer endorsements or claims of a local office. ReceiptPro is available online for businesses in Nigeria; check your connectivity, device and printer where you work.
If you are comparing POS products for an African business outside Nigeria, check currency support, payment providers, local requirements and support arrangements separately. This page describes the Nigerian product; it does not claim local banking integrations or compliance in every African country.
Choose a plan that matches your workflow
Starter is free with an account and includes up to 50 catalogue items, on-screen receipts, basic sales records, your logo and JSON backup exports for one device workspace. Growth adds unlimited goods, browser printing, WhatsApp text receipt sharing, fully unpaid credit sales and manual server backups. Pro adds expanded reports and custom document colours, themes and fonts. Removing ReceiptPro attribution is a Pro option.
Paid plans are prepaid and renew manually. A payment for your ReceiptPro subscription is separate from the money your customers pay your business. Review current prices and plan details, then try the workflow before choosing. Multi-branch inventory, automatic live device sync and automatic bank reconciliation are not included.
