How to make a receipt in ReceiptPro
Set up your free business account
Create a Starter account, or sign in to your existing workspace. Enter your business name and contact details. A familiar name and a small logo help customers recognise the receipt without crowding the figures.
Add the goods or services
Start a new sale and choose what the customer bought. Check the quantity, unit price and total before continuing. Service businesses can use descriptions such as a haircut, installation or training session; those services do not need pretend stock quantities.
Record how the customer paid
Review the sale, then choose cash, bank transfer or card terminal when enabled. Enter cash received if you want to calculate change; leaving it blank means exact cash. A card terminal payment is processed outside ReceiptPro, so check the terminal result before recording it.
Confirm receipt of the money and save
For a bank transfer, check your own bank account and use the explicit confirmation step. A transfer reference or screenshot alone does not confirm payment. Record the payment once, then review the saved receipt. Add customer details when useful and keep a clear record of any correction.
A receipt acknowledges payment; an invoice can ask for it
Do not issue a paid receipt simply because you agreed a price or a customer promised to transfer. Use an invoice when requesting payment and a proforma when providing a quote. If no money has arrived, keep that status clear instead of selecting cash to complete the screen.
Growth and Pro can record a fully unpaid credit sale with the customer's name and phone number. That records a debt, not a payment. Deposits and partial repayments need separate records; this is not an automatic instalment or bank-reconciliation service.
Use the layout that suits your customer
An 80 mm receipt layout is compact for short sales at a counter. A4 offers more space for longer descriptions and customer details. Review your document on a phone or computer, keep the text legible and position your business logo at the left, centre or right.
On-screen receipt creation is included in Starter. Browser printing, including Save as PDF where your browser supports it, requires Growth or Pro. WhatsApp text receipt sharing also requires one of those paid plans. Sharing opens the relevant workflow for you; it does not send automatic promotional messages or confirm a customer's bank payment.
Start free with clear limits
A Starter account supports up to 50 catalogue items, basic sales records and JSON backup exports for one business workspace on your device. ReceiptPro NG attribution stays on free documents. Growth adds practical printing and sharing tools; Pro adds custom document colours, themes, fonts and optional attribution removal. See what each plan includes.
Keep an exported backup somewhere separate from your sales device. Review daily cash, transfers and terminal payments against your actual payment evidence. A neat receipt helps communication, but accurate confirmation and a consistent recordkeeping routine make it useful.
